Thai-inspired water features and monolithic sculptures combine at this striking design hotel in New Delhi.
“Set in lush grounds dotted with frangipani and mango trees, the Dusit Devarana is a hip hideaway a 15-minute drive from South Delhi’s swank restaurants and boutiques. This two-story hotel is defined by water; pools of aquamarine, violet and indigo dot the eight-acre grounds, and immense sandstone pillars inspired by Mumbai’s Elephanta Caves contrast with the natural elements. The curvaceous polished concrete public spaces showcase epic art installations, including a revolving elliptical metalwork disc suspended over the foyer.”

The Charminar, built in 1591 AD, is as much the signature of Hyderabad as the Taj Mahal is of Agra or the Eiffel Tower is of Paris.
The English name is a transliteration and combination of the Urdu words Char and Minar, translating to “Four Towers”; the eponymous towers are ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches.
